World Diabetes Day 2022: Because of the increasing cases of diabetes worldwide, an initiative was taken to celebrate World Diabetes Day. It aims to spread awareness among the people about the various aspects of this disease.
World Diabetes Day 2022 Date: Diabetes patients are increasing rapidly globally. According to the World Health Organisation, around 4 million patients die of diabetes yearly. Therefore, World Diabetes Day is celebrated every year on 14 November to make people aware of diabetes globally and to tell people about its treatment, diagnosis, and care.
World Diabetes Day 2022 Theme:
Every year the International Diabetes Federation has a particular theme to celebrate World Diabetes Day! This year’s World Diabetes Day theme is Access to Diabetes Education, under the more prominent multi-year theme of Access to Care.
Its purpose is for people to get the proper treatment and information at the right time. The International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization started celebrating this day to spread awareness about diabetes among people.
Due to today’s changing food habits and lifestyle, diabetes has become a common problem. It is very harmful to health. That’s why WHO makes people aware every year and spreads awareness among people about the harm caused by it, its correct treatment, and precautions.
Diabetes type 1:
Type 1 diabetes can occur at any age. It is primarly found in children and young people. It is an autoimmune disease. During type 1 diabetes, the body stops making insulin. That is the cells of the body attack and destroy the cells of the pancreas that make insulin. Type 1 diabetes can occur at an early age or even from birth.
Diabetes type 2:
Poor lifestyle, obesity, and high blood pressure are the leading causes of type 2 diabetes. In this, less amount of insulin is produced in the body. In this, either less insulin is produced in the body, or the cells are not sensitive to insulin. Type 2 diabetes is found mainly in adults.
